Michael (Mike) Suby is an American television and film score composer and music producer. He graduated from the Berklee College of Music in Boston, Massachusetts in 2000.〔http://www.s3mx.com/main/aboutus〕
==Biography==
Mike Suby is a composer for television and film, known for creating bold, rich scores that embody complex and evolving emotions and story lines. Suby has composed for more than 300 television episodes, shorts and films and cemented his reputation in projects that elicit deep character development. His work is featured on shows such as ABC Family transgender docu-series, Becoming Us. Mike also composes the music for fan-favorites such as ABC Family’s drama and mystery-thriller Pretty Little Liars, starring Lucy Hale, Troian Bellisario and Ian Harding, CW’s hit Vampire Diaries, starring Ian Somerholder and Nina Dobrev, and The Originals, starring Joseph Morgan. He has also scored reality shows such as Lifetime’s Project Runway and E!’s Keeping Up with the Kardashians.
Mike’s career began at 27, when his grandfather championed him to leave his health care career to pursue his musical talent, and inspired him with the gift of a rare Les Paul guitar. To hone his natural skills, Mike attended the (Berklee College of Music in Boston ). In 2000, he moved to Los Angeles to launch his career and shortly after, Mike co-founded (S3Music + Sound ) with Berklee colleague Adam Sandborne. Here, Suby had a taste of creating powerful audio visual projects for Verizon, Celebrity Cruises, Alpine and Autodesk to name a few. Desiring projects with more music complexity, Mike successfully pursued scoring for film and television.
His breakout project was New Line Cinema’s The Butterfly Effect, starring Ashton Kutcher and Amy Smart in 2004. Since then, Mike went on to score for dramas, fantasy, horror, comedy and reality. A few of his credits include Seth Green and Matthew Senreich’s Emmy Award-winning TV series Robot Chicken, as well as The Scholar, The Zodiac, New Line Cinema’s The Butterfly Effect 2, (The Courier ), E!’s Living Lohan and Kourtney & Kim Take Miami, ABC Family’s (Kyle XY ) and Make It or Break It.
Mike’s work for (Pretty Little Liars ) and Project Runway earned him BMI awards in 2011, and in 2013 he was again awarded for Pretty Little Liars and Vampire Diaries by ASCAP. Suby also received an ASCAP and BMI award for and ABC Family’s (Make It or Break It ). Mike currently spends much of his time writing music from his home studio in the Pacific Palisades. When he isn’t working, Mike is busy being a dad, husband, golfer and wine enthusiast. He is also a proud member of the (Global Music Project ).
